1) Regularly check outdoor drains

Your outdoor drains are more likely to block in the winter months, so we recommend keeping them free of debris such as leaves and twigs. If they are kept clear, you are less likely to have any difficulties.


2) Pour hot water down your kitchen sink

As an extra precaution, pour some hot water down the kitchen sink every couple of weeks to help remove any build-up.


3) Flush Your Drains Regularly

Run cold water down your kitchen sink regularly to flush away any particles that may be stuck in the pipes. Doing this before and after using the sink can help maintain clear drains.


4) Run water down your drain before and after you use it

Before and after you use your kitchen drain, run some cold water down it simply to flush away any small particles that might be stuck to pipes. This will prevent a build-up of debris, which could lead to a nasty blockage if left untreated.


5) Pour Fats and oil from cookie into a container and throw it away

Another tip for kitchen drains: pour fat and oil into an old carton and throw it away, instead of pouring it down the drain. The cold will make these substances set even faster, increasing the risk of calling out a drainage expert.
